Geneva -- Switzerland on Wednesday said it concluded negotiations with Poland to revise a double-taxation agreement that would allow for exchange of tax information.

The deal would consider OECD-recommended standards on the exchange of tax information, said the Swiss Finance Ministry in a statement.

Besides the latest agreement, Switzerland has reached similar deals with eight other countries -- Denmark, Luxembourg, Norway, France, Mexico, the United States, Japan and the Netherlands.

Switzerland aims to ratify by the end of 2009 about a dozen accords governing double taxation practices in order to meet standards set by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The goal is to be removed from an OECD ‘greylist’ of countries considered tax havens.
