MADRID - State schools across Spain are to expand English teaching in an effort to address the lack of knowledge about the language.
Already schools in Madrid, the Basque Country and Andalusia lead the way in teaching the language.
Many Spaniards still have problems learning English as there is a divide between those who can afford to travel abroad and live in English-speaking countries, and those who have to pick-up the language from state teaching or private courses in Spain.
