MADRID â A Chinese couple have been arrested for cheating at roulette in the first case of its kind involving a casino in Spain.
The couple were detained at the Casino Gran Madrid while playing roulette with false tokens worth EUR 250.
They were said to have tokens worth EUR 1,250 when they were detained.
They used some genuine tokens among the fakes.
But an ultra-violet light was used to check the tokens and proved they were false.
The fakes were simply white when examined by the ultra-violet light, while the originals were florescent and marked with the motif 250.
A video showed how the woman put the fake tokens on the table.
The croupiers noticed that the tokens were not genuine and called security staff.
The two, named as Zhen F., 25, and Zheng D. 43, were arrested.
They were carrying fake tokens worth a total of EUR 10 million.
