11/06/2008Dutch want more Chinese and Indian tourists

An extra EUR 50 million will be pumped into attracting the rich holidaymakers from China and India to help boost the Dutch economy.

11 June 2008

THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch ministry of economic affairs will invest an extra EUR 50 million in efforts aimed at attracting more tourists to the Netherlands.

The promotion campaign will focus mainly on rich holidaymakers from countries with rapid economic growth. China and India head the list of target markets, with Dutch towns and cities at the top of the list of locations to be promoted.

Another goal is to increase the number of international exhibitions, fairs and conferences held in the Netherlands, since these events also attract wealthy visitors who, in turn, help boost the Dutch economy.

It is also hoped that a major international event will be held in the Netherlands at least once in every two years.

It's like a dream or just a big word because it's very difficult to get a tourist visa for Netherlands.
