Belgian police have arrested a Russian asylum seeker accused of taking the shoe from a shop in Maldegem.
Police spokesman Rik Decraemer said that authorities were alerted and quickly located and arrested the man who fitted the description by the sales staff.
Police also recovered the stolen shoe.
The case has been passed onto local prosecutors.
