From today onwards new rules apply to travellers going to the United States. From now on anyone who does not need a visa to enter the United States must register on the so-called ESTA website before they leave. The idea is to make the process easier when arriving in the United States.
The new rules for travel to the US are reportedly not causing much trouble at Brussels International Airport. Travellers who did not register on the ESTA website ahead of time are being helped out today. A represenattive from the USA embassy in Brussels is at the airport to help these people.
This morning a dozen or so travellers did not realise that the rules had changed and needed embassy help. The USA embassy in Brussels is advising passengers to register at least three days ahead of travelling to the United States.
