The spiritual leader of the people of Tibet, the Dalai Lama, is in Brussels. During the course of the morning he met yesterday with Belgian Premier Yves Leterme (Flemish Christian democrat).
Mr Leterme earlier said that his meeting with the Dalai Lama was a private one with a spiritual leader.
The Dalai Lama is in Brussels at the invitation of the European Parliament. He is also seeing the current EU and French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.
In protest against the meeting China has scrapped the EU-China summit that was supposed to take place in France this week.
