Unemployment rate eases to 24.1%

South Africa’s unemployment rate eased to 24.1% in the fourth quarter of 2013 from a revised 24.5% in the third quarter, Statistics South Africa reports. Economists caution, however, that unemployment is unlikely to come down significantly in the short term.
