Teacher sacked for taking S.African boys for penis piercing

A South African teacher who allegedly took three high school pupils to get penis piercings, has been dismissed, a school official said Wednesday.

The teacher at Willowridge School in Pretoria left the school and was the subject of a disciplinary committee after he reportedly took three teenagers to get a style of piercing known as the Prince Albert.

Local media reported he also gave the boys male-genitalia-shaped pasta.

The man was found guilty of “certain charges” by the national labour arbitrator, Stefano Bruni, head of the school governing board said, refusing to give details.

“Recommended sanction by the CCMA was summary dismissal,” he said. He said the teacher had left the school last week.

The education department in the Gauteng province which encompasses Pretoria and Johannesburg, hailed the decision.

“The department welcomes the decisive action taken,” department spokesman Gershwin Chuenyane, said.

“We have a zero tolerance stance on sexual offences involving minors.”
