Britain is deploy fighter jets "in coming hours" as part of the international operation to enforce the UN Security Council resolution on Libya, Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday.

Cameron told parliament that Britain would "play its part" to create a no-fly zone by employing RAF jets to prevent Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi's troops from attacking civilians.

"I can tell the house that we will deploy Tornado and Typhoon as well as air-to-air refuelling and surveillance aircraft. Preparations to deploy these have already started and in the coming hours they will move to airbases from where they can take the necessary action," he said.
