Job Title: SQL Developer Location: High Wycombe or Remote going to office twice a month Salary: £60,000 to £65,000 + Benefits A well-established client of mine that has a range of high-profile FTSE 250 companies as a client base is looking for a SQL Developer to join their growing Development team. You will be heavily involved in designing, implementing and maintaining SQL Database Administration, SQL Server Development, ETL & Data Processing and General Software Development duties.The SQL Developer will join an established team and act as a technical expert for SQL applications to perform a range of complex tasks and in doing so being accountable for the design and delivery of very significant projects. The SQL Developer will also be liaising with external suppliers and internal teams including senior members of the company to resolve issues whilst also having a great get up and go attitude to work within a fast-paced dynamic environment.In addition, the SQL Developer will be able to get hands on experience with Azure as my client is in an Azure Cloud hosted infrastructure so all development in the future will be within this environment so it is a great opportunity to get new experience with the latest technologies!As the SQL Developer you will be involved in: SQL Server Database Administration • Ensure servers and processes are fit for purpose and remain operational • Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required SQL Server Development • Translate business requirements and use cases into functional applications • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code • Ensure integration with The Company, Client and any other relevant systems • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues • Help maintain code quality, organization, and documentation • Provide advice and insight into emerging technologies and techniques relevant to RDI core services ETL & data processing • Creating and maintaining the ETL routines in SSIS • Liaising with team members to ensure smooth day to running of all ETL routines • Loading and validating historic and live data feeds as required • Supporting development, admin and analytical staff on usage of said routines General Software Development • Investigate and develop skills in new technologies • Plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement • Support and troubleshoot legacy applications to ensure continuity of service • Training the end user or client on the final product as well as providing technical support whenever required As the SQL Developer you will need to have good troubleshooting skills and an inquisitive mindset with high standards of data quality and integrity and: • Excellent understanding of SQL Server • Troubleshooting skills with an inquisitive mindset • Forward thinking, identifies weaknesses and presents resolutions • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and present to a range of stakeholders with varying levels of technical understanding • High standards of data quality and integrity If you are interested in applying for the role of SQL Developer, please apply in the immediate instance with a copy of your latest CV and we will be in touch.
