The healthcare industry is in the middle of a seismic shift. The global pandemic marks one of the greatest healthcare challenges the world has ever faced, demanding and inspiring rapid innovation. Covid-19 has accelerated the adoption of telehealth, and uncovered the vast potential for highly reliable, personalised and usable screening and diagnostic tools for use in the safety of the home. Given the existing prevalence of chronic illness such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer – together accounting for circa 70% of deaths as estimated by the World Health Organisation – the time for change is now.
Zedsen’s ecosystem of digital health innovations will build a future for healthcare that is preventative rather than curative; that monitors patients non-invasively and unobtrusively; and empowers patients with ownership of their health through personalised data.
Our world-first technology has the ability to harmlessly monitor biological tissue without the need for biopsy or fluid sample collection. Zedsen biosensors create a 3-Dimensional electrical field that measures the permittivity and conductivity of materials. When coupled with complex algorithms, they are capable of non-invasively monitoring trends within our bodies. Data captured will be anonymised and analysed to reveal population health insights at scale. This foundational technology is safe, non-invasive, low cost, thin, flexible and portable.
Whilst potential application areas are vast and our portfolio of products will grow over time, we are committed to prioritising the world’s most pressing healthcare challenges where our technology has the greatest impact. The primary development streams for 2021 will be our cancer care and blood analysis products.

We have a unique opportunity to develop innovative non-invasive technologies that can revolutionise healthcare and security applications. We look forward to welcoming a Python Software Engineer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for developing and testing code to manage our core sensor technologies and process the data, including running machine learning models, all of which will support Zedsen in moving to its next stage of growth – the application of its sensor technology to commercial products. Reporting to the Head of Software, you will be integral in furthering the application of our core technology.

RequirementsSelf-starter with attention to detail Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field 3-5 years of experience as a Python developer A strong understanding of multi-process architecture and the threading limitations of Python. Ability to integrate multiple data sources into a single system Familiarity with testing and collaborative software development tools Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently Good written and verbal communication skills Team player Experience in the medical device industry or related fields would be an asset
