About the role Oxfordshire Children’s Services has an exciting management opportunity for an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) Service Manager. This interesting, complex and rewarding role will provide suitably experienced candidates with the chance to combine their existing LADO experience with a management role, responsible for delivery of LADO, Education Safeguarding Advisory and Transport Safeguarding service functions. The team has responsibility for overseeing the management of allegations against those in a position of trust, delivering safeguarding advice and training to all education settings and investigating safeguarding concerns relating to OCC approved transport providers and their staff. Ideally, you will have a strong track record working as a Designated Officer, combined with excellent working knowledge and experience of all education settings’ safeguarding responsibilities. About you We are seeking an accomplished and credible manager and trainer in both these areas, with the energy and enthusiasm to deliver a quality service to help keep our children safe. You will have extensive, detailed children’s safeguarding knowledge including safer recruitment practice. A social work qualification, significant statutory children’s services work experience and Social Work England registration is essential for applicants who are not current or former Designated Officers moving between local authorities. This role has recently been re-evaluated at Service Manager level to reflect its demands and important contribution to keeping Oxfordshire children safe.
