Senior Operations Assistant – Valuations and Tax Pack – 12 month FTC – Glasgow – £30k Do you want to work for a business with the perfect work-life balance, endless development and training opportunities and a small and supportive team? You want to work for a high-profile investment manager in the City Centre of Glasgow, who work across various professional services clients? You work within settlement operations for a financial institution and are now looking to progress your career. What does the day to day look like? To support and provide assistance to the Operations Manager, deputising where relevant on daily duties. To perform the daily duties within valuations functions and conduct peer quality checks, to a high standard, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Making sure that client requirements are prioritised at all times. To adhere to all controls, regulatory guidelines and procedures relevant to CGT and Valuations functions. Responsibilities: • Assist Team in the completion of daily tasks associated with CGT and Valuations functions and requirements, including regular liaison with Investment Front Office for requests, remediation and query resolution • Perform second-checking on daily tasks, and allocation of any ad-hoc tasks received • To deputise for Operations Manager when relevant, and ensure the team meets weekly to discuss, document and communicate all relevant issues affecting CGT and Valuations • Ensure that the department’s documented KPIs / KRIs are met • To provide technical advice and help resolve problems pertaining to issues within your area and where relevant externally to your area • To coach other team members and when called upon to assist in general staff management issues • Conduct and attend face to face meetings with stakeholders and Change Analysts to discuss technical issues • To ensure your team procedures are documented to the appropriate standard and periodically reviewed and updated where necessary Are you who we are looking for? • Settlement operations experience gained within a financial institution • Demonstrable interest in financial services and in particular investment management including relevant terminology • Demonstrable knowledge of the regulatory environment and how it applies to and impacts your role • Experience of delegating and reviewing work advantageous but not essential • Understanding of CGT principles, Investment products, and tax packs for clients • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic level Word and intermediate level Excel • Strong Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences • Demonstrate ability to understand and summarise complex information in a professional and concise manner For more information on this unique opportunity please get in touch with Lorna Rogen at HRC Recruitment or send your CV directly.
