Morgan Hunt are looking for a Science Curriculum Team Leader to work for a College in the East London area. Science Curriculum Team Leader Pay: £30,00 – £40,000 per annum Science Curriculum Team Leader Contract: July 2022 Science Curriculum Team Leader Hours: 0.6 – 08 FTE hours Subject area: Teach Physics, GCSE and Btec level Science Curriculum Team Leader responsibilities: • You will deliver the physics curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies, communicating effectively with students as appropriate and providing students with appropriate tutorial support in accordance with the programme and individual requirement • The successful candidate will be skilled in teaching Physics with knowledge of BTEC and GCSE curriculum. • As a CTL you will oversee the Science curriculum area through monitoring, collation of information and quality assurance. • Service planning, target setting, monitoring and review the planning and allocation of workloads and duties • delivery of all forms of work-based learning (including apprenticeships) • Support and assessment (may include delivery in off campus locations e.g. employers premises) • Improving efficiency and effectiveness in the use of resources and achievement of outcomes • Establishing and maintaining effective team and other professional relationships • Enhancing the team's performance and its accountability for such • Deploy a wide range of teaching and student-centred learning strategies that ensure (a) the most effective learning, continuation, achievement and progression of students, and (b) the most effective use of teaching time and other resources and (c) ability to adapt teaching style to accommodate different student learning styles • Stimulate and promote effective, student-centred, independent learning strategies for students of all levels of ability to achieve beyond their prior learning and their expectations. • Assist directly in the marketing of courses and the College generally, including liaison with schools, employers, training agencies, universities, and attendance at marketing events; and foster partnerships with other agencies where appropriate. • Ensure the full implementation of course review, evaluation and development, and other quality assurance processes as required by College policy; and work pro-actively to secure constant quality improvement and student completion and achievement of the highest possible standards. • Undertake regular and systematic monitoring of achievement of all targets set for your area of work. Monitor achievement towards stretching academic targets • Undertake a pro-active role in the performance review, quality audit, self-assessment, and staff development and training • Undertake course leadership by managing the learning environment with a student-centred focus We are looking to speak with an experienced Science Curriculum Team Leader that has the following: • A recognised teaching qualification e.g. DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education • Recent experience of teaching in the Further Education Sector • The ability to engage different learners through a range of teaching resources • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one • Experience working within further education and training To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or be registered with the DBS update service. If you do not hold a valid DBS, you will be required to have one processed (Morgan Hunt do not cover the cost for this) to work in a FE College.
