Research Analyst We are hiring an entry level Research Analyst to join our Data Quality and Analysis team which is part of the wider Citywire Enable. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the investment industry. Working across Citywire’s two key databases of Audience and Fund Managers, you will be responsible for analysis, research and information delivery. You will also be involved in research projects and will be encouraged to contribute ideas and observations to the business. The DQA team are a key part of Citywire’s business, enabling us to better classify, understand and interact with our audience. Citywire publishes its own news, analysis and unique fund manager performance information to help professional investors – from financial advisers, wealth managers to fund selectors – make the best decisions about where to place their clients' money. Citywire Enable are responsible for the data and subscription products at Citywire, including Citywire Goldmine, Citywire Research, Fund Manager Ratings, Group Ratings and Digital Advertising Operations. We’re a 30 strong team with people in all of our international offices. Working together across our products enables us to really understand what our clients are trying to achieve and help bring products and solutions to the market that improve the experiences of individuals across Asset Management. Main responsibilities – Gather information from online sources, internal Audience Development teams and 3rd party relationships to contribute to the growth and maintenance of the – Audience Database – classifying the audience into Citywire’s Asset Management Industry taxonomy – Fund Manager Database – tracking the international career history of the Fund Managers which supports many of the products that Citywire provide. – Develop an understanding of the key roles and responsibilities at different firm types in the industry to be better able to classify the audience and to contribute to the development and evolution of the taxonomy. – Become a subject matter expert in the Career history and performance characteristics of Asset Classes, Sectors, Asset Management Companies and individual fund managers – Provision of data and analysis to internal and external stakeholders. Job specific skills / profile: – Education on business anayliss and markter research would be advantageous, especially with experience in an office based environment (can include internships). However, this is not essential and we will consider wider approaches to this role. – Good communication and presentation skills – you will be required to work with departments across the business and with stakeholders at all levels. – Good excel skills are essential – exposure to vlookups and similar formulas – Analytical mind-set with the ability to research and find key pieces of information. Continually asking questions of the data available to you – Ability to work with large datasets, spotting trends and similarities in the data – Organised and Methodical – you’ll be able to manage changing objectives and multiple workflows – Some knowledge of the Asset Management Industry would be advantageous Who we are Having a common set of values sets the tone of everything we do and how we do it.
