A brilliant opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer to join a Privately owned German Manufacturer with a multiple billion T/O, at their facility in Derby. As their Project Engineer, the role includes the following:
Reporting to the Operations Support Manager, the department is responsible for all current model, new product introduction, engineering and continuous improvement activities within the plant relating to chemical and gases for use on site.
Plant equipment specification and selection, piping specification, specification, and integration of third-party equipment packages.
Specification of equipment, quotation phase through to launch overseeing installation and commissioning of bulk compressed gases/refrigerant storage and delivery systems and chemical handling systems for a new production hall and lines.
Generating and reviewing technical specifications for key components and process equipment packages, tender process and bid analysis.
Management of the overall detailed timing plans for process plant related systems and ensure all milestones are met.
Manage the processing projects with both internal and external parties to gain the required safety approvals and installation sign off.
Contractor selection, management and control including work permits, RAMS etc
Manage the project financials, raise all required CAPEX approvals and work with purchasing to ensure all required POs are raised on time.
BSc / MSc chemical / process / mechanical engineering discipline associated with process plant project engineering
3-5 + years' experience within chemical/ gas process plant CAPEX project engineering
Ideally 10 years industrial experience from a process industry background – heavy process, gasification, chemical, steel, bulk minerals, waste to energy, etc.
Experience working on complex engineering projects from conception to completion, incorporating bulk handling/ storage, pipe work, pumps and instrumentation, PI&D drawings
Knowledge of process safety for compressed gases, flammables and other chemicals including DSEAR, COSHH, REACH and ATEX requirements
Project management experience, delivering complex technical process safety projects on time
