The Council is operating in a very challenging environment and in response to this, it is transforming the way in which it delivers its services so that they meet the needs of its communities. Modernisation and business change is an ongoing process not an event and you will play an influential role in supporting colleagues across a full range of people initiatives and practices in order to transform our organisation. You will provide professional Business Partner support, including complex and sensitive employment issues, for a range of Council services. That you will have relevant qualifications, experience and professional competence and credibility is “a given”. Do you have the “extras” needed for this challenging and exciting opportunity with a forward thinking, innovative HR Service? You will need to be flexible, resilient and an original thinker with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organisation including elected members. To be a success in the role you will understand the operating context for a modern Welsh council in terms of political, financial and strategic challenges and be able to identify workable and affordable solutions to take our workforce and organisation forward. First class oral and written communication skills are essential. You will be a team player with an eye on the workload of colleagues and a readiness to offer help before you are asked. “It’s not my job” will not be part of your vocabulary and mind set. How can I help and how can we deliver excellent customer service will be your “modus operandi”. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable.
