My Creative client is looking for a Set Builder for their Commercial Photography Studio. You’ll need to have good DIY skills which will encompass building wooden framed backgrounds and painting studio sets, the role will also be responsible for the general housekeeping of the studio. You’ll be working as a Set Builder / Studio Runner with the Creative Design and Photography team Reporting to the Studio Manager and working closely with our Photographers. This is an ideal opportunity for a flexible and enthusiastic person to join a busy, fast moving creative team. Key Roles and Responsibilities: • Working closely with the photographers to build and dismantle sets in-line with photographic design briefs. • To be responsible for painting decorating, and refurbishing sets. • The day-to-day management of product samples: unpacking & packing product samples, assembly, simple wiring installation & electrical testing in preparation for the photography shoot (training will be provided). • Maintaining all aspects of the studio, ensuring equipment, tools and machinery are in a good condition and stored in the correct location. • Responsible for the organisation and update of studio prop inventory. • Ensure the studio is kept tidy and sets are stored safely, following the company’s Health and Safety procedures. • You may occasionally be required to travel to support product installation into our product showroom which may include overnight stays. • Other additional ad-hoc tasks may include simple wiring / product installation in our showroom, collecting stock from warehouse and purchasing materials, such as paint, when required. Skills needed: • Knowledge and/or experience in elementary woodworking, painting & decorating. • Ability to carry out DIY work and general repairs. • Basic IT Skills; Outlook Email and MS Office. Ideal Candidate must: • Have a hands-on approach and take initiative in identifying tasks to action. • Be able to self-manage own day to day tasks. • Have a 'Can do’ mentality and motivated to work. • Work flexibly as part of the team. • Be prepared to adapt quickly to changing business needs and follow instructions. • Have passion for products, ensure careful handling to prevent damage. • Ability to work at heights. • Full UK Driving Licence. Hours are 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 16:00 Friday.
