Essential SkillsManagement of a payroll teamGood working knowledge of SAGE 50 Payroll Manage payroll's daily activities to ensure the effectiveness/efficiency of the payroll functionBe responsible for preparation and assurance of the monthly payroll data presented for payroll sign offEnsure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely mannerManage and resolve issues relating to payroll productionOversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirementsSupport all internal and external audits related to payrollReview and improve payroll policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with Payroll legislation and updatesProvide leadership, coaching and direction for the Payroll teamProvide an ongoing support to HMRC, CSA, Job Seekers Agency and others alikeProvide specialist advice on highly complex issues relating to Payroll and Pensions, Statutory RequirementsDemonstrable experience gained managing Payroll serviceDemonstrable advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of all aspects of Payroll and Pensions processing.Ability to review complex data and recognise their relevance to operational delivery objectivesExperienced in taking responsibility and demonstrating a commitment to deliver business outcomes and benefitsA proven track record of developing and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders Daily ResponsibilitiesPreparation of the weekly/monthly payroll, ensuring that payroll is disbursed accurately within the cycleCalculation and payment of termination paymentsPayment and reconciliation of bonus and overtime paymentsProcessing increases, calculation of back pays and payroll deductionsCalculating annual leave entitlement manuallyProcessing starters and leavers informationProducing payroll reports for the Accounts DepartmentResolving all pay queries and correction of errorsAccurately inputting data on to the SAGE payroll systemDealing with incoming and outgoing mailAnswering the telephone and responding to general enquiries from internal and external sourcesLiaising with other team members and functionsManually calculating statutory paymentsRTI submissionsManaging and processing pensions into different schemesPreparation of Tax Year EndRole TypePermanent – full time (9am-5pm Monday-Friday total 37.5hrs per week)Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience
