A great opportunity to join family owned electrical products company who require an innovative Operations manager to join a them. Distribution operations cover a 30,000 ft2 warehouse but we also have a growing manufacturing operation where we assembly electrical products that are designed in house. The company operates an MRP system with hand held barcode scanners on the shop floor. We are seeking an Operations manager to lead a small team of about 12 staff covering both the distribution and production sides. Prior experience with electrical products is not essential but proven leadership ability in a similar environment is. The role will report to the Managing Director. Responsibilities will cover: • Ensuing day to day inbound and despatch processes meet agreed customer service levels in terms of accuracy, presentation and timeliness • Maintaining accurate stock control via accurate receipting, labelling and precise control of stock movement and issuing processes • Planning production schedules in conjunction with the purchasing team. • Ensuring production processes operate to the highest standards of quality • Handling all line personnel issues including recruitment, development training and performance. • Developing ISO quality process to cover key production activities. • Engaging as necessary with customer facing staff, directors, purchasing teams and others to handle challenges and opportunities in a fast paced customer focussed environment. • Ensuring the physical workplace is as safe as is practical, that all legal and internal safety policies are complied with and with that building infrastructure is maintained to a high standard The ideal candidate will be: • enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and a desire to innovate • experienced in a production and environment • A strong leader who develops and inspires other people • Comfortable in an electrical product assembly environment • IT literate with strong analysis skills • Commercially minded and a good team player Hours are 08:30 to 5pm Monday to Friday Based in Castleford with good access from the M62 and A1. 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service to 28.
