One to One Child Support / Class Teaching Assistant – Full-time

Pay: £18,425 per annum (pro rata depending on hours) Start Date: September 2021 We are looking for a number of excellent practitioners starting in September. 2021. All posts are full time during term time only. We have a vacancy to support a young child, with Additional Needs helping them to access their education and learning. This will include support with appropriate behaviour, socialisation and basic literacy and numeracy skills. There may also be the need to provide a degree of personal care. Initially this would be a temporary position until July 2022, but there may well be the opportunity to extend beyond this date if the child remains with us. Equally this post could finish sooner if the child leaves as the funding for these positions is attached to them. In addition to this we also have a vacancy for a general class Teaching Assistant. The position is for 30 hours per week working five days, including 30 minutes daily lunch duty, hours are from 8.30am to 3.00pm, contracts will be calculated on staff working for 39 weeks per year. The successful candidate will be working in a Key Stage 1 class, supporting the children and helping to address any gaps in their learning. You will work primarily in the classroom alongside the class teacher or leading small groups on specific learning targets. You would also be expected to encourage the appropriate behaviour and attitude to enable the most effective learning. Experience of working with children in an educational setting is required along with – good English and Mathematical skills – flexibility and use of initiative – strong communication skills – experience of working with children who have Additional Educational Needs – the ability to work alongside different colleagues – patience and understanding of the way different children learn – commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. A successful candidate for either job would join a team of highly motivated and excellent practitioners. Experience and qualification is preferred. However we are willing to consider candidates looking for a new employment route, this may be particularly suitable for parents wishing to return to the workplace or considering a change of career.
