Seeking an NQT of Science for a highly academic & outstanding Secondary School in Havering, East London. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Science Teacher to join a supportive and thriving environment with a school at the heart of the community. Specialising in either Chemistry, Biology or Physics we will help you develop into a well rounded practitioner.

As a rapidly improving school rated ‘Good’ across all categories by Ofsted and aiming for ‘Outstanding’, pupils and staff share excellent relationships and as such, pupils are well motivated and eager to learn. As a Science teacher you will have the enthusiasm to inspire and challenge pupils at all Key Stages focusing on KS3 & 4 and, with our guidance, we will provide you with the tools needed to become a truly great practitioner who will teach up to A-level.

The successful candidate will be working in an environment where your growth and development as a Science Teacher is a key focus as we support you through your induction year. As such, we encourage the same level of commitment to excelling within your role as a Science Teacher in our School.

In particular, candidates should

  • Hold a formal secondary teaching qualification, either a Secondary PGCE or equivalent and hold QTS
  • Show the ability to be a/or become an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Have high expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
  • Have enthusiasm for developing innovative and creative approaches to learning, teaching and student participation
  • Have a sound subject knowledge which they can utilise to challenge all pupils
  • Have a clear understanding of the latest curriculum
  • Have an ability to engage and motivate pupils
  • Have a commitment to support our enrichment programme by facilitating co-curricular clubs

Dependent on the candidate, this may be a permanent position or a long term supply role with a start date in September 2021.
