• Lead the metrology team including task delegation, defining priorities, staff development & training.
• Experience of identifying and implementing new metrology technology within a manufacturing environment including verification and training requirements.
• Capacity plan and effectively ensure throughput of tasks within the metrology department
• Act as an Interface for NPI/PPI projects & manufacturing support for the metrology department
• Support validation and verification activities for existing and new production processes.
• Quality engineering & Metrology support and training where required
• Manage the First Article Inspection Process and associated procedures
• Manage the Calibration process including reporting and budgets to effectively support the business.
• Process capability studies and analysis, setting benchmarks and best practise
• Report on any transient areas of risk by constant monitoring and evaluation
• Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with Corin’s ISO13485 QMS & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) FDA21 CFR Part 820.
• Ensure that process and timeline requirements for Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) are met in accordance with Corin’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in support of Corin’s Global Objectives for CAPA.
Requirements
The ideal Metrology Team Leader will / be;
Have an engineering HNC / HND or related discipline / equivalent qualification, as well as experience of;Have worked within a manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI) environment. Have experience of Medical devices or orthopaedics manufacturing ideally or will have worked within a highly regulated industry such as aviation, aerospace, healthcare or automotive.Have excellent time management abilities and can deliver to agreed deadlines in a demanding environment. Understand design for manufacture processesHave First Article Inspection reports / process (FAIRs) experienceProcess validation & verification Be able to work from and use Manufacturing engineering and engineering drawings (GD&T). Have a metrology methods and inspection equipment experience – EG) Manual and CMM inspection.Be aware of Measurement Analysis techniques.CMM and Keyence programming experienceHave experience of MCOSMOS and Calypso CMM softwareCAPA & RCA analysis experience.
