These capabilities include: Track record of building and maintaining a deep and continued connection to Medical Practice/healthcare delivery Collaborative/matrix management skills with a focus on leading diverse groups (e.g., cultural, geographical, functional) to achieve excellent results in shared goals Well-developed communication and influencing skills with the ability to distil complexity down to what matters to our stakeholders Strong financial/budget and project management skills Business acumen Reporting directly to the Head of Immunology, GMA, the Medical Execution Director for Immunology will be charged with delivering strong strategic alignment between the Global Medical team to the Medical Directors in the regions and markets, ensuring world class execution of the key initiatives in the iMAP in the field.

The Medical Execution Director will be directly responsible for the day-to-day management of the Global Medical Team (GMT) as well as roll-out and implementation of all strategic materials from Global, including strategy updates, priority publications and medical slide decks.

Furthermore, the role will entail representing Global Medical leadership on all country Launch Readiness reviews and Strategic Brand Reviews post-launch with priority markets to enhance Medical performance across the whole AZ organization.

The role requires setting strategic Key Performance Indicators that clearly represent trends in advancing in clinical practice, flag resourcing gaps to senior leadership (Global and Regional) and elevating visibility of Medical’s performance and impact to the franchise.

Typical Accountabilities: Drive Global Medical strategy (iMAP and GMT) to the marketing companies to ensure rapid, coherent adoption and implementation Constant communication with all major market Medical Directors/Heads of Immunology regarding strategic execution and medical performance Co-ordinate and roll-out all key Global medical materials to the markets as per the Global communication plan : Medical Strategy documents Publications Medical data materials (e.g.

clinical data) New technologies/medical tools Develop all medical KPIs for each brand launch/post-launch Build effective working model with Global Brand VPs and Commercial Excellence Directors to ensure strategic alignment and ensure Medical organization performance is prominent in the successful launch/on-going performance of each brand: Lead Medical component of Launch Readiness Reviews with the markets (as appropriate to brand) Lead coordination with Field Medical Excellence group Lead Medical component of Strategic Brand Reviews with the markets (as appropriate to brand) Represent Global Medical at Global Brand Teams (GBT) – responsible for strategy and medical performance updates Global Medical Team manager: Proactive agenda management Enhance GMT effectiveness

Medical Masterclasses Support Regional Leads in defining country medical resource, required to deliver the medical strategy Advances reputation of AstraZeneca and the Respiratory Medical Affairs organization with leading experts Essential Requirements: Expertise in the relevant TA required Experience launching new products (within Immunology TA preferred) Experience working within country medical (Medical Advisor or MSL strongly preferred) Experienced in Global Medical Affairs or similar function and working cross-functionally across a large product team Strong demonstration of strategic and medical leadership prowess at therapeutic area and/or senior leader meetings Demonstrated track record in delivering new initiatives, capabilities and leading large scale impactful medical initiatives desired Demonstrated success in building and executing multi-year strategic roadmaps highly desired Experience leading teams with a track record of delivering results in a complex environment Skills and Capabilities Proven ability to create bespoke strategy and mobilise an organization to execute Strong executive presence and ability to work collaboratively with global executive teams and leadership Experience of presenting to senior leadership; persuasive oral and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver executive presentations Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external colleagues in various geographies, cultures, roles, and hierarchic levels – enterprise leadership mindset Understanding of the complex and evolving Medical Affairs space with insights about trends, opportunities, risks, and an understanding of external stakeholders (payers, patients, physicians) Ability to manage overall business and medical priorities while also being able to actively engage in more detailed execution discussions Ability to fluidly flex between high level strategy and detailed tactics as required Strong analytical mind-set and ability to quickly assess large amounts of information and distil into key messages and actions Integrity and high ethical standards
