Materials Manager
• To efficiently and effectively manage, lead and assume responsibility for material, planning & logistics ensuring customer satisfaction, always • To support management of all aspects of inbound and outbound material flow including supply, subcontract services and logistics Client Details My client is a leading automotive manufacturer based in Redditch Description • People Management such as Performance Management, Coaching & Mentoring etc. • Management of MP&L department ensuring all accountabilities are resourced and effectively managed. • Exemplary Customer communication both pro-active and re-active. • Review incoming Customer schedules, forecasts and incorporate into internal systems. • Responsible for incoming material (Metal and Bought out parts) in line with Customer schedules and internal manufacturing plans. • Responsible for all internal planning of manufacturing operations to ensure Customer on time delivery. • Management and execution of all third-party subcontract requirements. • Organise all export/import of goods and services to meet the company's needs. • Ensuring delivery deadlines are met and departmental budget adhered to (KPI's) • Organisation, planning and controlling nationwide vehicle routing, scheduling, and delivery service. • Maintaining Company vehicle fleet and associated paperwork. • Ensure that the Company vehicle fleet is operated within the legal requirements including control of MOT test. • Maintain the company vehicles to operator's license guidelines transport documentation to meet the relevant legal standards. • Reconciling invoices and receipts relevant to transport and all POD's. • To ensure all tools, fixtures, gauges & metal packs are always available to production in line with manufacturing plans. • SIOP's and capacity planning • Lead quarterly and year end stock take • Delivery of MPL budgets and forecasts • To support and undertake projects for cost reduction, report findings and make recommendations accordingly • Ensure all good Health and Safety practices are being followed • Environmental standards in line with accreditation's • To advocate the organisation in a positive and professional manner at all times • To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post and participate as and when necessary in organisational wide initiatives and projects. Profile • Material, Logistics and Purchasing KPI's (measured environment) • Strong management and organisation of resources • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to drive through change • Strong negotiation, planning and scheduling skills • Problem solving • Must want to aspire to achieve high standards of work and professionalism at all times • Remain calm whilst working under pressure • Minimum of 5 years within a similar MP&L role • Experience of using SAP or similar • Extensive experience within a manufacturing environment • MS Office Skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) • Strong team working ethics and customer focus • Excellent communication skills at all levels • Well organised and have an eye for detail • Strong problem solving skills • Can-Do attitude.
