The Grand Opera House York is seeking a competent Maintenance & Buildings Assistant, who will work with our Technical & Buildings Manager to ensure the venue is presented to all staff, visitors, performers and external contractors to the highest standard possible. As Maintenance & Buildings Assistant, you will report to the Technical and Buildings Manager and venue management team. As a key member of the Back of House team in the venue, you will collaborate with colleagues in the building and plan, organise and coordinate building projects and repairs, maintenance contracts and planned preventative maintenance. This post will be a daytime working role, and will cover any 5 days of the week. Our 1000-seat Edwardian theatre beautifully situated near the river in the heart of this historic city. Our venue team is made up of experts across Management, Technical & Maintenance, Marketing & Communications, Customer Experience and Ticketing & Sales departments. Hosting a diverse range of locally- and nationally-based producers, we host over 270 performances throughout the year and welcome 125,000 people through our doors to enjoy premium plays, musicals, dance, tribute acts, comedy and the festive cornerstone of our ever-popular family Pantomime.
