More about your role We have an opportunity for an ambitious Category Manager to join the Group in this newly created role focussing on IT procurement and contract management. You will take forward the work of our Head of Procurement in providing an effective and comprehensive IT procurement function for the Group. You will support the business with procurement, negotiation and management of IT contracts. You will also help to nurture strategic relationships with vendors and Group IT. This new role will strengthen the existing strategic procurement function and enhance and promote their reputation and impact across the Group. You will have the autonomy to help drive change in the way IT services and products are procured and build excellent collaborative cross function relationships with our proactive “people first” IT team. This role is based in Preston allowing you to collaborate with the procurement and IT teams. As we move out of lockdown we are trialling hybrid working, so you will be able to split your time between home and the office in Preston. For more information please download our job profile available on our website. More about you Ideally you will be CIPS qualified or working towards chartered status (we are happy to support this). However above all we are looking for an IT procurement professional, ideally you will already be an IT category specialist however we will consider a generalist who can demonstrate significant IT buying experience. If you know your SaaS from your IaaS or PaaS then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a strong negotiator, you should be able to evidence how you have leveraged good deals in your current/previous roles. In addition, a good knowledge of supplier compliance in areas of data and GDPR compliance would be advantageous. As a large property business knowledge of our sector would be great but we are happy to train you in our sector and OJEU. Finally, we are looking for someone with great communication skills, someone who can build strong relationships both internally and externally.
