We are fully committed to driving high levels of employee engagement and you will be joining a high performing team operating in a supportive team environment.We are looking for an Information Manager who has worked in information management who will be responsible for ensuring that HS1 follows, and where possible leads, best practice in data and information management (including the application of BIM, GIS and Document Control).The role will be responsible for ensuring that; HS1 holds, or has access to information required to deliver the corporate strategic objectives; HS1 asset information is of sufficient quality to deliver the corporate strategic objectives; and Information requirements and standards are sufficiently clear and fit for purpose. This role includes the management of external suppliers and contractors for the delivery of data, information and information products. Data and Information Champion The Information Manager will be the champion for HS1 data and information and will engage with the HS1 team to support the adoption of best practice in the management of data and information and the use of requisite tools. Specific duties include:Responsible for the implementation and ownership of the HS1 Asset Information System. Lead point of contact for asset information. Leading communications for improvement projects, the delivery of new tools, and for implementation of new business processes related to the management of asset information. Ensure changes to asset information business processes are disseminated across HS1 and the supply chain. Deliver asset information management training to HS1 staff and ensure they are aware of importance of asset information to HS1. Provide data and information management expertise and insight to colleagues across the business. Custodian of Critical Asset Information HS1 considers Asset Criticality to be how important an asset group or system is in delivering the Asset Management Objectives. Critical Asset Information is the important asset data, in context, which is required to support the delivery of the asset management objectives. The Information Manager will be the custodian of critical asset information; ensuring that HS1 receives, stores, and disseminates critical asset information in adherence to the HS1 Asset Information Policies. Specific duties include; Maintain and support the development of data transfer schedules between HS1 and the HS1 supply chain. Liaise with HS1 suppliers to ensure that the scheduled data transfers take place within agreed schedules. Receive asset information and ensure it is uploaded into each of the relevant asset information tools or systems. The role will support the Head of Asset Management, Project Sponsors and Project Managers to develop information requirement tender documentation, define roles and responsibilities, help plan information hand overs and provide assurance over HS1’s CDM requirements, for delivering projects.In-house Analysis of Asset Information The Information Manager will undertake in-house analysis of data to create information. This responsibility is about providing information and associated reporting. Specific duties include; Analysis of received data to determine asset data quality in terms of completeness, accuracy, timeliness. Provision of asset information reports and delivery of asset information associated HS1 obligations. Provision of simple data cleansing and parsing of received asset data prior to uploading to asset information systems. Provide HS1 asset register assurance, that it is complete, accurate, consistent, reliable, and available. Supporting the Head of Asset Management with ad-hoc analysis and reporting. Supporting the Head of Asset Management, IT Systems Engineer & Facilities Coordinator and associated suppliers to support the improvement and procurement of asset information IT systems. Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Experience of working in Information ManagementGood understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) An understanding of Asset Management and ISO55000 and its practical application. Excellent and compelling communication and presentation skills Good understanding of whole life costing, investment appraisal tools and techniques. Experience of working with regulators and external stakeholders. Experience of managing contractors and/or consultants. Good knowledge and understanding of asset information and maintenance management systems. Experience working within the built environment. Qualifications Degree in a relevant field or related subjectCertificate in asset management (desirable). Project management practitioner (desirable).
