Income Management Advisor – Cheltenham Gloucestershire

The income management team are responsible for the monitoring and collection of rental income and maximising customer benefits. As an income management advisor, you will work in your community having open and honest conversations with customers to help sustain their tenancy. You’ll work collaboratively to achieve the best results for our customers to allow them to thrive in their homes and communities. This is a permanent role, working across Cheltenham and surrounding areas (GL20). You will work 37.5 hours per week between Monday and Friday, working flexibly to meet customer needs. A Basic DBS check as well as a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. Experience in the housing or benefits sector will help you hit the ground running. You will need to have a good understanding of income collection and welfare benefits so that you can provide technical support, advice, and guidance to customers. You will also support your colleagues, leaders, and neighbourhood coaches with in-depth benefit information. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in helping us provide safe, secure, and warm housing to over 100,000 people. In this role, we want you to bring: • Experience in a front-line customer-facing role within a general needs housing environment, or a similar background relevant to income collection • A good understanding of housing benefit, universal credit and welfare reform legislation would be an advantage (again, at least two years' experience would be preferred) • Excellent communication with colleagues and customers alike, in an engaging and welcoming way • A positive attitude and a consistent, engaged team player. Proactive and able to prioritise your workload • A willingness to find a solution for every customer's individual needs, including effectively negotiating repayment arrangements • Excellent IT skills, attention to detail, and an excellent work ethic • Your commitment to our DNA and be a great ambassador for Bromford.
