Ochil Tower is in a period of significant development and have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Human Resources Advisor.
The Role Reporting to the Resources Manager, you will provide high-quality HR and CPD support to deliver the organisational objectives and values.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to design and establish HR systems appropriate to an organisation which has grown from a handful of employees to 60 in five years and which will expand further in the future.
Our ideal candidate will provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on all HR and people related matters.
Key Responsibilities · Lead on recruitment processes from advert to contract issue and advise line managers on effective · Support and advise line managers in selection processes · Produce recruitment documentation, create all relevant records for new recruits and maintain general HR records · Maintain PVG records and expiry dates · Lead on developing high quality induction documentation for all staff groups · Monitor induction delivery and completion and ensure all new start complete mandatory training · Maintain current knowledge of the requirements of the GTCS and SSSC · Assist in the organisation of the content and delivery of CPD and training events · Maintain CPD and training records across all staff groups · Maintain staff sickness records and advise line managers on absence management in line with Ochil Tower policy · Advise line managers on performance matters and provide HR casework support · Conduct exit interviews and feedback learning as appropriate to the OMT · Lead on communications regarding employment, CPD, training and related matters · Participate in groups and initiatives to consult employees on employment related matters · Proactively consider and advise on mechanisms which can support employees’ wellbeing · Liaise with the OMT and the H&S Advisor on wellbeing matters · Working with the Resources Manager and Administrator, provide the HR information to inform the monthly payroll using accounting software Xero · Note all changes in circumstance to staff terms and conditions and action these for payrun · Submit monthly pension reports to pension provider · Assist with year end payroll reporting as appropriate · Assist with the development of staff & CPD budgets and monitor expenditure as required · Draft HR policies and procedures as required to support organisational ethos, working closely with the Executive Director · Take ownership of the review schedule for HR policies & procedures · Develop HR systems to provide accurate data for reports on HR key performance indicators and external reporting · Ensure HR systems are GDPR compliant and meet records management/archiving requirements · Develop CPD systems to provide accurate data for CPD reports and planning purposes · Produce regular reports as required by the Board and Senior Leadership Team on the above Essential Skills and Experience · Educated to degree level or equivalent · CIPD accredited or working towards · Generalist operational HR experience · Well-versed in all aspects of employment legislation · Emotionally intelligent, able to adapt style as and when required · Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities · Ability to design clear and fair HR policies · Ability to solve problems in a calm and measured manner · First class organisational and administrative skills, ICT literate · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Highly-motivated and able to work under pressure Desired Skills and Experience · An enthusiasm for working with young people with additional needs and an interest in the rights & welfare of young people · Knowledge of the registration requirements of the SSSC and GTCS · Understanding of principles of safeguarding and child protection legislation · A strong professional network and the ability to quickly forge new contacts Benefits · 30 hours a week (0.75FTE) · Flexible working hours with an opportunity to increase to full time · Learning and development opportunities We believe in being the best and that is why we constantly strive to learn and innovate, to challenge ourselves, to adapt and to work together with others who can bring valuable expertise.
