Do you have experience of setting up and growing a HR function within a business, whilst supporting the growth of the team and company? This is a rare opportunity for an energetic and experienced individual to join a well-established and growing business that operates in the UK and Europe as their HR Business Partner! Due to recent growth and further investment, they are now looking for an experienced HR professional who will be responsible for all areas of HR including leading their people strategy and developing HR policies and systems. This is a highly visible role and you will be instrumental in the continuous growth of the business working in partnership with an impressive leadership team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build and maintain strong business relationships with relevant business leaders ensuring they are supported and coached to help improve business efficiencies. • Take ownership of all escalated employee issues, including employment tribunal claims. ensure consistent delivery of effective and professional advice in line with policies, legislation and best practice. • Working with managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and maximize productivity and retention. • Develop people processes and policies and drive a culture of change. • Measuring and tracking employee engagement, identifying areas that require improvement and working with managers to implement appropriate changes. • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and employees with disciplinary, grievance and absence issues • Evaluating training and development programs • Monthly visits to locations in Europe for a minimum of 1-2 days • Actively promote and demonstrate the company values. Ensuring all employees understand and utilise these values when performing the duties of his/her position. • Actively engages in the strategy to align to standardized UK and EU HR practices and partners to deliver seamless and professional HR service. • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures appropriate for the assigned location in cooperation with Regional Managers and company policy. • Serves as primary Human Resources representative for assigned areas/departments, and other locations as requested by management within the region that does not have dedicated HR support. • Recruit, conduct interviews, and select employees to fill vacant positions in cooperation with hiring managers – coaches’ managers to become proficient in hiring activity. • Maintain accurate records for benefits, hires, promotions, transfers, compensation, performance reviews and terminations. • Prepare reports and recommend procedures and programs to reduce absenteeism and turnover. • Driving performance management IDEAL CANDIDATE • Proven experience in a fast-paced HR role, working as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or similar level • You are self-driven and highly motivated with a passion for HR • Experience in providing ongoing HR support and advice to line managers with regards to employee relations issues, including short and long term absence, maternity and paternity leave, performance management, grievance, disciplinary etc. • Experienced in researching, writing and implementing HR policies and procedures • Experience of setting up a HR function and supporting the growth of head count is desirable • Fun, engaging personality, work ethic and resilience is key • Excellent working knowledge of UK Employment Law and the ability to learn and understand European Employment Legislation • Up to date knowledge of HR best practice and proven track record of the practical application of policies and procedures • Highly organised, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise a varied and pressurised workload • You are highly professional with integrity and respect for confidentiality • Demonstrable ability to provide strategic HR advice and counsel, in addition to providing seamless operational excellence • Excellent administration and computer skills, in particular, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Full UK driving license as site-to-site travel will be required • Strong business acumen with a forward-thinking approach • Ability to drive, implement change and influence others through using and demonstrating the company’s core values. • You are agile and able to adapt well in a fast paced and changing environment. • You are able to work autonomously, on your own initiative and with a pragmatic focus • Fully CIPD qualified (Chartered MCIPD) COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Manchester, Leigh, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Worsley, Swinton KEYWORDS: HRBP, HR, HR Manager, HR Director, Human Resources, Human Resources Business Partner, Human Resources BP, CIPD, ABOUT US By applying for this role, you are explicitly consenting for McCarthy Recruitment to hold and process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations.
