Job Description for Housekeeper in Guildford Position: Permanent Job Reference: DB574 Job Title:Housekeeper Location:Guildford, Surrey Number of Children: B5, B3, Girl 20 months Pets: No Salary: £15/16 gross per hour Holiday: Statutory paid holiday Start Date: ASAP Hours Required: Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 12-14 hours / week, 3 x 4 hours plus potential of 2 further hours if cooking. Family would prefer a Mon/Wed/Fri split but are open to discussion. Driver: Not required Summary: This is a lovely family that do need a fabulous Housekeeper who can help them keep the house functioning. We are busy professionals, often working long hours. They three children, two of whom have additional needs. They often spend working hours dealing with medical issues and fit in their “day jobs” late at night. We are looking for someone who understands the pressure on the family and understand that flexibility and independence are important. Duties will include: • Full care and cleaning of the home, including rotational deep cleaning. • Laundry, and ironing and putting away and including wardrobe management and sorting out clothe that the children have outgrown. • Updating us on cleaning supplies as required. • Changing bed linen. • Preparing snacks for school the next day (eg chopping fruit and putting in a pot in the fridge for the next day). • Occasionally cleaning interior of car (not to valet standard, but occasional basic hoover of boot and car floor/wipe of surfaces). • Cooking one/two family meals per week (depending on the total hours worked). Following a recipe to make a chilli / tagine / fish pie / shepherd's pie / spag bol. This role will suit you if you are: • Independent, self-motivated, and able to use your initiative. • Able to plan their time to ensure the tasks get undertaken effectively and efficiently. • Comfortable around children. • Professional, friendly and diplomatic • Willing to learn and to find their feet in a new environment, and to ask if you have queries • able to follow instructions.
