Hull-based Ideal Heating has launched a recruitment drive to support its increasing focus on new and sustainable heating technologies.

This is a significant planned investment in a specific heat pump Technical Sales and Service Team.

This is part of Ideal Heatings ongoing commitment in their transition towards NET Zero and to make sure that they continue to provide a best in class service as the business continue to expand its renewable product portfolio.

Ideal’s parent company Groupe Atlantic has been the French market leader in heat pumps for more than 15 years, and are continuing to support Hull in the development of their portfolio of Heat Pumps & related products.

Ideal Heating have already released their first Air Source Heat Pump, the Alfea, into the market and plan further release of products in 2023.

The business has invested in a multi-million pound purpose built renewable training facility based at Bridgehead, Hessle, on the outskirts of Hull where a number of the positions will be based.


These roles are crucial to ensure that we are able to offer a professional and ‘best in class’ service to our customers as we continue to expand our sustainable energy products portfolio. Acting as an ambassador for the business they will be expected to build and maintain positive relationships with external and internal customers alike.

Essential Criteria:

* Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal

* Demonstrable diagnostic skills.

* Excellent electrical knowledge and testing skills to include safe electrical isolation, fault finding and component testing.

* Knowledge of correct system pipe sizing and system design.

* Highly intelligent with the capability to digest information rapidly

* Ability to be an ambassador for the business

* Skilled problem solver with the ability to take the wider view

* Able to perform well whilst working under pressure and to strict deadlines

* Outgoing and confident personality with the skills to build and maintain positive working relationships quickly

* Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues from all levels within the business

* Solid and reliable team player

* Well organised with time management and prioritisation skills

* Ability to always pay attention to detail.

* Logically minded with the ability to analyse and evaluate information quickly and accurately

* Ability to ask questions in order to determine correct information

* Comfortable with decision making, Flexible and robust with a ‘can-do’ attitude



The following are essential:

* NVQ 3 in a Plumbing and Heating discipline OR NVQ 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

* Domestic ACS

* Unvented HWSS (G3)

The following is desirable: (but training and support could be offered in order to attain these qualifications)

* F-Gas cat 1 qualified.

* BPEC Heat Pump Qualification.

* Part L, Energy Efficiency.

* 18th Edition wiring regulations.

* Commercial ACS Core unit.

* Water Regulations.

* CSCS qualified and up-to date.

* Low Temperature Heating design qualification.


* Demonstratable experience of at least 2 years working on and with Heat Pump technology.

* Extensive experience in domestic service and repair of central heating systems and heating appliances is essential.


* Sound IT skills, Experience of Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), Full Clean Driving License.
