Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Development Director for Affinity Petcare, this role will be responsible for building the strategy, function and team for a brand new Sales Development team for Natures Menu UK. Working across Natures Menu, Country Hunter and Natures Variety, the role holder will lead on:

Establishing Trade Marketing in the UK across all brands, activating all year round initiatives as well as key campaigns in Key Accounts and Trade Accounts

Hiring and coaching performance through two direct reports- Customer Marketing Manager and Trade Marketing Manager across Key Accounts and Trade Accounts respectively

Delivering category vision and category support for the UK – driven heavily by data and analytics

Conducting trade research projects / insight as they occur.

Implementing strategic brand programmes

Trade Event management

Monthly reporting at Strategic Pillar updates

Budget Management of Shopper Marketing assets (POS)

The Successful Applicant

Affinity Petcare and Natures Menu UK are looking for an individual who has been operating in the middle ground between sales and marketing. They will look to appoint a candidate who has a broad background in the commercial arena (marketing /sales) and is capable of developing a clear strategic vision, both for brands and for their category.

Natures Menu is a European leader and therefore candidates will likely have experience in businesses who have leading brands in their category and are well respected and recognised by retailers

Candidates could be an existing manager of a commercial area, with accountability and ownership for sales and A&P.

Experience in both Sales & Marketing would be ideal, combined with expertise in Trade, Category or Shopper Management

The candidate will need to quickly establish the SD function and apply principles in trade marketing, assortment, visibility and store presence.

Candidates will be leaders and capable of building teams and new functions in businesses
