Graduate Product Design Engineer New Medical Devices Concepts Bangor, North Wales To £24k Our client is an innovative medical device company specialising in the design and development of cutting edge electro-mechanical medical devices and due to continued growth, they now have an immediate requirement for acreative Graduate Product Designer with 1-2 years’ experience to join the R&D Design team • Working on new concepts for medical devices. • Invention and development of medical device products throughout the realization, concept phase and into development. • Can-do attitude • Attain highest levels of quality • Opportunity for career growth • Training, learning and development Responsibilities • Use rapid iterative design process and prototyping to design, prototype, and test new device concepts. • Work closely with expert opinions to understand product requirements and gather usability information as part of the design process. • Use SOLIDWORKS as a design tool. • Production of Drawings for manufacture and prototyping purposes. • Test prototype devices and gather feedback from expert opinions • Work closely with other engineers in fields such as electronics, software, mechanics. • Assembly of small volumes of prototypes for proving design and pre V&V activities. • Drafting and refinement of manufacturing instructions, jigs, tools and procedures for the product. • Attendance at pre-clinical trials. • Develop devices with patient safety in-mind. Key Skills • Familiar with prototyping equipment, manual tools, basic CNC, 3D printers etc. • Making and prototyping • Sketching, Sketch models, model making, CAD. • Project & organization • Verbal and written communication • CAD including SolidWorks. • Design for Manufacture processes Injection molding, extrusions, CNC machining and a range of materials. • An ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. • Previous experience or interest in medical device design • Self-motivated and driven. Education • Degree and/or experience in Industrial Design or Product Design Engineering
