Summary Are you looking to work within a passionate team in one of the most picturesque locations in the Lake District? Would you like to make a difference, working for a charity where profits are channelled into conserving and protecting those special places we all love to visit. If so, working in the Boathouse Café at Fell Foot Park at the southern tip of Windermere, could be the place for you. Will I be working evenings & weekends? Yes, during the peak season there is an expectation that most of the team work at the weekends. There may be occasional evening working during the summer holidays but there are no split shifts and we try to ensure weekend work is shared out amongst the team. You may work up to 40 hours at peak times across the season. Is there any training on offer? Yes, the National Trust have a wide programme of development and you will be expected to take online courses including food safety and information security. The Hours: Flexible hours available which includes weekend shifts; to be discussed at interview (No Evenings & No Split Shifts) The Salary: £8.91 Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 31 December 2021 What it's like to work here Unrivalled in its position at the foot of Windermere, Fell Foot is unique in the Lake District with its collection of gothic revival boathouses and gently sloping parkland. Fell Foot is well loved locally – a place where many of us played as children and spent summers splashing about in the lake. We welcome over 250,000 visitors a year across the seasons and the summer season is usually a busy one! What you'll be doing You will be working within the team delivering fantastic service to our visitors. Working front of house between the Boathouse Café and Ice Cream Parlour on the lakeshore, you’ll be serving food and producing quality coffee as well as scooping ice cream. You may also work alongside our chef, preparing pizzas to be cooked in Fell Foot’s wood-fired pizza oven, housed inside a de-commissioned Trust Land Rover, or preparing fantastic coffee from the Minty Coffee Van, alongside the Visitor Welcome team. You will be the face of the National Trust at Fell Foot. Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
