Velocity are the market leaders for pothole solutions, providing a long-term solution to road defects, as road repair specialists we are currently investing in new projects, building and supplying new machinery to meet the increasing demand from local authorities and contractors for our ever-growing business- hence we are seeking a new employee to join our dynamic team. We require a highly organised, proactive and driven individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills who can work calmly in a fast paced and high-pressure environment. You should be of a confident and assertive nature and have experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in dealing with a wide range of issues and tasks. Reporting to the Fleet Manager, you will perform functions of administration and take ownership of tasks. The ability to manage a workload, have good attention to detail and to be able to prioritise and work to deadlines is a must. Experience in a manufacturing or services environment would also be beneficial. Key tasks will include, dealing with machine faults and breakdowns in a timely manner, scheduling vehicle maintenance and updating records, attending and organizing meetings, ensuring that systems are up to date, raising orders, creating invoices, stock movement and processing timesheets of workers, liaising with customers both internal and external, suppliers and other departments to ensure that costs are accurately captured and dealing with enquiries. You should be competent in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel primarily and the role will also require a wider range of IT capabilities, therefore you should be willing to expand your skills to using further software packages e.g. accounting software – for which training will be provided as you will be also maintaining various data streams on in house systems and databases. Immediate start pending company interviews, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, based in Sunderland.
