Financial Accountant
Working closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Financial Accountant will be primarily responsible for all aspects of accounts preparation and the production of key financial statements.
Financial Accountant Responsibilities
- Preparation of annual Financial Statements on a timely manner and compliance with FRS101
- Coordinating with the internal / external auditors
- Monthly journal postings and reconciliations, and maintaining integrity of nominal ledger
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for Business and for Group reporting
- Accounting of fixed assets including maintaining the register, monthly postings, reconciliations and classification between OPEX and CAPEX
- Lease accounting IFRS16, including posting of journals and reconciliations and various scenario analysis
- Provide forecasting to FP&A team on fixed assets and leases
- Advise on accounting treatment for example revenue recognition for different business lines
- Maintain intercompany reconciliations
- Cash flow forecasting including weekly and monthly cash flow actual vs forecast
- Completion of FCA Returns compliant with internal and external regulations
- Production of monthly and quarterly VAT returns
- Completion of National Statistics reports
- Liaise and support the non-financial members of staff, providing financial information and advice
- Periodically undertaking audits, involving the examination of the organisation’s accounts, analysing risk, inspecting the organisation’s current practices, investigating any financial irregularities and recommending improvements

- Qualified finance professional – ACA or ACCA
- Strong technical finance knowledge – IFRS & FRS101
- Experience of producing IFRS financial statements
- Advanced finance systems background – MS Dynamics or SUN will be very advantageous
- Outstanding spreadsheet/Excel modelling skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – proven ability to communicate at all levels across of the company including those with no financial background
- Emotionally intelligent with a disciplined approach to work
