Finance Analyst (Northern Europe)

Telford – Hybrid working with up to 25% travel

£47,000 – £54,000 + bonus / benefits

Seymour John are partnering with an international manufacturer who are going through a period of growth. Such growth has led to the recruitment of a newly created Finance Analyst to cover the Northern Europe region which houses 6 sites (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark). In this role you will work closely with the senior management teams across the region to aid the targeted growth from $60m to $100m, profitably in the next 4 years. Sales have grown approximately 17% for each of the last 2 years, but one of the key challenges is to run a more profitable business.

This new role of Financial Analyst for Northern Europe has been created to interrogate the available data, turn it into useable MI and then present this to key decision makers in the business to educate and persuade them to behave in ways which increase profitability.

The job holder will be responsible for detailed financial analysis and action plan follow up for the Northern Europe Region specifically focused on improving local gross margin. Main aspects of the role will be detailed review of customer pricing and price increase tracking, special price tracking and analysis to ensure HQ customer pricing is being followed locally.

Using this analysis to help with the monthly re-forecast process and giving guidance to local finance and management on relevant data to help build the forecast and annually the budget.

The holder will work closely with the N Europe Regional Leader, Business Unit leader in each country, the head office finance team and the local finance teams in each local country. The overall objective is to improve financial performance particularly gross margin of each of the reporting units in Northern Europe.

* Ongoing daily tracking of customer orders and sales to track price across the region including realization of price increases and review of all terms (e.g. cash discounts etc.)

* Work with HQ pricing team to understand all customers in the region with special price agreements, understand when the agreement will expire and ensure local teams are following the agreed prices and new orders are meeting the price and dates as agreed

* Develop relevant gross margin KPI for country performance and track each month

* Work with local shared finance teams in N. Europe to help analyse CT month-end actual results for the regional leader; prepare summary variance analysis to forecast and work with regional leader to follow up any finance issues, particularly on gross margin

* Working with the local customer service teams to provide an analysis of inventory, inventory in transit and backlog data to enable prioritisation of order fulfilment.

The role will require up to 25% travel to the countries stated above. You will live close enough to Telford to spend 2-3 days per week in the office, when not travelling.

You will be an experienced finance professional with experience ideally gained working in FP&A role with focus on profit improvement from pricing management.
