Mechanics, maintenance engineers, field service engineers, machine engineers….Start a career in FIELD SERVICE I have an exiting opportunity for a mechanical trained engineer or technician with a positive attitude and good customer service skills. This is an entry level post with a manufacturer of machine tools to become one of their specialist FIELD SERVICE ENGINEERS, carrying out planned maintenance for clients on the company's range of specialist CNC machine tools across the North of England. Your role will be to visit clients within a given region carrying out planned maintenance on the company's machines. You will carry out scheduled servicing, replacing consumable parts from the stock in your company van, carrying out inspection and testing and reporting any issues back to the service department where a diagnostic engineer can be dispatched to carry out more in depth repairs. The role is based from home. The service department will provide you with a weekly schedule of visits, although you will need to be flexible as this can change from time to time. The company is keen to develop its engineers so they have set up a four tier career advancement programme for its field engineers, unique to this employer. This means that as you grow your experience you will grow your status within the company. The company offers extensive product training and technical development so you need to be keen to develop your skills and learn about the equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified electromechanical engineer who is looking to progress into field service work with a market leading manufacturer or an experienced service engineer who is looking to move sectors. The role comes with: • Van with petrol card and personal use if required (HRMC disclaimer needed) • Tools and PPE supplied • Hotel card (for overnight says) • Full product training (this may involve trips to Europe) • 25 days holiday (+Bank holidays) including an Xmas shutdown • Company supplied Uniform • Overtime for weekends at premium rates To be considered you must be able to demonstrate: • Formal engineering training in electrical or mechanical engineering to Btec level / NVQ level 2 • Flexible approach to working hours (you will be able to attend your first call by 9am no matter where this is) • The ability to work away from home for up to 2 (occasionally 3) nights a week • A Full UK driver's licence with up to 3 penalty points (DVLA code will be required as proof) NB -DR10s will not be considered • You are IT literate (the role will involve submission of reports) • An excellent attitude to customers (this is a customer facing role) and the ability to deal with challenging situations • Good communications skills.
