An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Natural Sciences for a Faculty Operating Officer to assist the Dean of the Faculty in developing and delivering the Faculty’s strategic objectives. As a key member of the Faculty’s management structure you will lead the professional and technical services of the Faculty, delivering operational excellence across all Faculty professional and technical services and initiating and managing change processes. You will be responsible for supporting the Dean in the formation and implementation of the Faculty’s strategy and ensuring proper governance within the Faculty and its Departments. You will be a champion of your academic colleagues and liaise effectively with other support service providers to support the delivery of the academic mission of the College. Meeting the demands of this multi-site operation and developing and implementing policy and strategy will require substantial experience in similar or related roles either in the public or private sector, demonstrating development through a series of progressively demanding work roles. You will also have the ability to create and implement operational plans for the delivery of services and operations, along with comprehensive knowledge of the current issues affecting the higher education sector. Success will also require excellent leadership skills, with an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional drive, forward thinking and a strong vision.
