Birmingham
A very highly regarded full service national practice is eager to appoint an additional Employment Solicitor to its nationally recognised Employment Team and be based at the firms’ modern and vibrant offices in Birmingham city centre.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join an award-winning firm that is immensely proud of having a transparent and collaborative culture throughout the entire organisation. The firm itself has an envied reputation within a number of sectors to include healthcare, local government, NHS organisations and housing institutions in addition to also acting for a varied private sector client list within media, manufacturing, and retail.
The team is looking to consolidate its offering within the Birmingham market by strengthening its presence with the hire of an Employment Solicitor with anything from 1 to 4 years’ PQE. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters to include advisory work, Tribunal claims, whistle blowing, TUPE issues and changes to legislation. Whilst respondent experience is preferred, the practice is happy to hear from employment solicitors with a claimant background as long as they can demonstrate solid exposure to corporate support along with a desire to move into the respondent sector.
The role will provide access to employment work on behalf of corporate and commercial clients, you will also have the benefit of acting for public-sector clients and there will also be some opportunity to undertake advocacy as well. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to participate in business development initiatives and help shape the team going forward so progression opportunities are abundant. You will also have a good deal of client exposure, so this is a great opportunity for those who are keen to go above and beyond normal fee earning duties and have the chance to forge a successful long-term career for a major player in the employment sector whilst working alongside experts within the sector.
A competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package are on offer which includes a generous holiday allowance with the option to purchase more days, private health care, life assurance and an abundance of corporate discounts. The firm is also keen to promote a healthy work/life balance and so will encourage you to take advantage of the agile working scheme that is in operation, with many of its existing lawyers benefiting from home-working when required in order to facilitate any out of work commitments.
