Start Date: September
Fixed Term Contract starting 1st September 2021 to August 31st 2022 when the role will be reviewed.
Term Time Only – 38 weeks per year x 32.5 hours per week
Salary: KR3 – £18,425 per annum (this is the full time equivalent, actual will be pro rota to above weeks/hrs)
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate and preferably has experience in Early Years. Our Early Years setting has a vibrant maintained nursery and a successful reception year group with an EYFS lead teacher. If you have high expectations of themselves and others and works well within a team we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate may work with children with additional needs including children who have a physical disability and/or medical needs and are happy to support personal care needs.
Applications are invited from individuals who have
- relevant and recent experience of working as a TA in a school, preferably in EYs
- outstanding attendance and punctuality
- at least NVQ3, or equivalent, in childcare (or similar)
- GCSE maths and English at grace C+ or equivalent
- good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- ability and confidence to work with a range of children and confidently manage behaviour
- ability to work with children with additional needs including children who have a physical disability and/or medical needs and are happy to support personal care needs
- an ability to communicate, take on board advice, use your initiative and meet deadlines
- a great sense of humour!

Information about the school
Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.
The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.
We have just under 260 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.
We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Play Scheme for all children in the community.
