Duty Officer – Leisure Services
JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: Duty Officer Division/Team:Leisure Services Responsible to:Operations Team Leader Responsible for: Facility management teams Salary Grade: £12.20 ph NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Location: To work from a venue determined by management. Job Purpose and Role To operate the facility in accordance with the adopted facility management plan and through the effective motivation and supervision of staff. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1.To be responsible for the operation of the centre, to be accountable for all monies received and to ensure all financial and administrative procedures are carried out correctly. 2. To raise orders and sundry debtors using the council's finance system as requested by the Operational Team Leader 3. To deal courteously, efficiently and effectively with all customer needs, complaints, accidents, incidents and defects as they arise and fully complete relevant report forms. 4. To communicate daily with the facility team in order to pass on and receive information and ensure that the facility is operating efficiently and effectively. 5. To ensure that facilities are of an acceptable standard of readiness and cleanliness and are fully operational and available for public use at all times to ensure a high standard of service delivery to customers. 6. To supervise and where required instruct in the safe use of the facilities by customers ensuring compliance with the appropriate procedures and providing advice and assistance in the use of equipment. 7. Undertake point of sales duties as required, including issuing of tickets, safe receipt of income, the issuing of equipment and supplying customers with relevant equipment, receipt and correct storage of same. 8. Ensure that the equipment and plant at the centre is always fully operational, identifying, repairing or reporting defects as required. 9. In the event of an emergency incident, to exercise the appropriate control and management, working within the established emergency procedures. 10. To be a key holder and on standby on a rota basis for emergency call-outs at facilities operated by Leisure Services. 11. Produce rotas for centre staff on a shift basis, keep up to date, monitor attendance and obtain cover for staff when on leave or unable to work, to ensure safe and effective staffing levels for all activity areas at all times. 12. Maintain security of the premises throughout the opening hours and during locking up procedures. 13. To regularly patrol the facility and the immediate outside vicinity in order to deter vandalism and theft. 14.To participate in staff development, appraisal and training as appropriate, including continuous professional development. Qualifications and/or Training *NVQ Level 3 or equivalent *RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or ability to achieve within 6 months (Pool sites) *Level 2 Health & Fitness Certificate or ability to achieve within 6 months *First Aid at Work Certificate (which includes a cardiopulmonary resuscitation) *Pool Plant Operator Certificate (Pools) or ability to achieve within 6 months *Mandatory Health and Safety training YOO Recruit is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
