This full-time Desktop Support Engineer role comes with a generous salary of £27,668 p/a and an excellent benefits package. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be accountable for providing expertise and support for desktop and mobile devices across the organisation, providing high-quality customer service in line with published service levels. You will work collaboratively with team members and other colleagues across the organisation to understand IT requirements and business needs, and you will undertake regular visits to regional offices. In your first week as a flexible Desktop Support Engineer, you can expect to: • Be accountable for undertaking 2nd line IT support activities, including fault diagnosis and resolution for client systems in line with ITIL best practice • Monitor and update service desk incident records with actions taken • Provide cover for the IT Service Desk when insufficient Service Desk Analysts are available • Develop and maintain hardware images for desktops and laptops • Asset tag client devices, maintain the hardware inventory, document the hardware build processes, and assist with the preparation of user guides To be successful in this IT Support Engineer job, you will need in-depth knowledge of Desktop software systems, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Active Directory. You should also have experience in developing hardware images and packaging software for deployment.
