What you need to know about the role… As a Construction Manager with The Gym you will be responsible for the Construction Phase of our proposed Gym roll-out ensuring the fitout of new sites are delivered, and existing sites are refurbished and improved to The Gym's great standards as required. You will be at the forefront of fitting out new gym's and seeing the project through from inception to completion. You will take a building from shell condition to the dynamic gym our members know and love. In this role you will have full support from your line manager (the Project Manager) and collaborate with the wider property team, external consultants and contractors throughout the process. As a Construction Manager you will co-ordinate the delivery phase of the projects including the tender process, statutory compliance and health and safety requirements. Your role will involve the management of external professional teams including architects, building services engineers, external PM's and QS, Contractors and equipment installation teams. As well as the day to day running of the 'live' projects, a key part of the role will be arranging and attending regular site meetings throughout the UK. With our exciting growth plans we will provide the projects and you will work your magic utilising the skills and experience that you bring with you to this role. The role is field based and will suit a Construction Manager who enjoys being out in front of people and being involved in a project at every stage. As our Construction Manager, you will: Co-ordinating the tender process. Managing costs and budget during the project Ensuring statutory compliance prior to projects starting on site. Managing health and safety before, during and upon completion of the construction phase. Communicating with the external design team and fitout contractors prior to work starting to ensure all aspects of the proposed fitout have been considered and agreed. Attending the pre-start meeting and regular progress meetings ensuring The Gym Groups high standards are being adhered to. Overseeing the installation of the external and internal signage and compliance with brand standards. Ordering and co-ordinating the installation of Gym equipment. Attending the Practical Completion inspection and signing off the completed fitout. Satisfactory project closure including signing off final accounts and H&S Manuals and ensuring all necessary conditions have been satisfied and suitably recorded. Let us tell you what we are looking for… To enrich our great team, we are looking for a Construction Manager who embraces their role, the team and our culture. The successful applicant will have the following competencies / characteristics: Good communication and team player skills to develop relationships that enable collaborative working. An eye for detail ensuring high standards are being met throughout the project. Being organised and methodical with your approach to Construction Management. Competent in relevant Health and Safety Legislation, CDM Regulations, Building Control and Planning. Leading a project team to deliver fitout projects. Experience of property and project management within a multi-site organisation. Experience working with a wide range of building professionals including architects, surveyors, and engineers. Experience in interpretation of drawings and specifications. Concurrent management of multiple projects at different stages by different external teams. Ideally a relevant degree and/or equivalent membership of professional organisation. Knowledge of property management, building maintenance, lease agreements and general property practice. Ability to complete Building Surveys. Experience in CAD.
