Overview We're looking for an experienced and ambitious strategic communications professional to join our team at one of the newest and largest unitary councils in the country. About the role As the Communications Manager (campaigns and forward plans), you'll oversee the development of creative and compelling campaigns that inform, inspire, educate and change behaviour. You'll embed a culture of forward planning, evaluation, innovation, learning and improvement within the teams that you oversee. You'll work closely with the Head of Communications and the Communications Manager (news and content) to drive forward our improvement programme, focus on delivering against our corporate priorities and always work together to meet our shared goals. As an integral member of the communications management team, you'll have a role that is varied, challenging and at the centre of the council. You'll be working with our corporate management team, our 147 newly elected councillors – and everyone in between. About you You'll be passionate about the value of communications and will be an inspiring, supportive and motivational leader, who encourages your team to be the best they can be. You'll be forward thinking, ambitious and enthusiastic and have the drive and energy to tackle challenges head-on. We're looking for someone who is an experienced, strategic corporate communications professional, who has a proven track record in developing, delivering and overseeing high quality, impactful communications from start to finish. You should be able to work across a range of channels and with strategic partners, the private sector and community partners. Experience of working in a unitary council would be advantageous.
