Commodity Data Analyst – Sustainability

Over the past year, our client has been going through the process of defining internal and public targets as part of the launch of a new sustainability strategy. The successful Candidate will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of this strategy. This role supports the management team to manage the information management system, monitor the effectiveness of the sustainability strategy implementation, improve knowledge management and learning frameworks, use technology to collect and manage asset and community data, and create reports with actionable insights. Our Client has been investing in technology solutions for internal and external purposes. These solutions range from small to large ERP systems, traceability solutions, procurement solutions, database solutions with front ends and data collection solutions. The role will be as a key advisor to the management team regarding current and future investments in technology solutions especially related to collecting and analyzing data on the implementation of the commodity commitments as well as traceability solutions that connect commercial and sustainable data. At the onset, the role will be to inventory all of the solutions currently being used within the operations, evaluate their capabilities and make recommendations on the path forward – that is, those solutions the business should retain and those that should be eliminated. Following this discovery and recommendation phase, the role will be to monitor the rollout of the execution based on these recommendations. This would likely include the selection of potential vendors as well as working with vendors and internal global and local IT departments to ensure a successful rollout across the business. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Analysis of data for annual progress reports • Provides analytical insight to help determine the organization's future direction for product sustainability • Leads the development of and manages related data collection and analytical requirements for key performance indicators for commitments related to product sustainability • Provides key inputs and data coordination, sourcing and supplier development teams to track, assess and forecast progress towards meeting those commitments • Works to ensures integrity of product sustainability data for eventual third party validation • Accountable for ensuring all sustainability reporting initiatives are completed on-time, on budget and consistent with requirements and objectives Provides insight on relevant digital solutions • Carries out inventory of all traceability and data collection solutions currently being used • Conducts an evaluation of the various in-house solutions and ones being used by industry / key clients in order to recommend which ones respond best to our current and future needs and that of our clients • Develops a roadmap for the solutions being proposed, highlighting interconnectivity of the various solutions with one another • Proposes partners, if required, that would need to be involved in the execution of the roadmap • Work closely with internal global IT and local IT departments in the successful rollout of solutions • Monitor latest technology trends that are relevant to our operations This role requires international travel up to 20-30% in rural settings. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field required (e.g. International Development, Economics, Statistics, Data analysis) • Previous experience in experience within sustainability and/or Data • Knowledge and experience of traceability systems • Experience with technologies being used in remote areas / solutions made for BoP • Familiarity with program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) • Great sense of details and capacity to be autonomous • Ability to synthesize a wealth of information in a concise manner • Experience using software packages and data analysis programs (e.g.: Stata, R, Power BI, GIS) • Experience using database management software (e.g.: SQL, Microsoft Access) • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and preparing presentations • Excellent Microsoft application skills particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel • Self-Starter, enthusiastic, proactive, flexible and strong interest for commodity markets • Fluent English with French skills being a distinct advantage and ideally Spanish
