HealthHero is on track to being one of the largest digital health players in the world through a combination of buy-and-build and scale up of an existing portfolio through organic execution.

The Chief Medical Officer is a key leader in navigating our growth plans and achieving our ambition.

The role is fundamental to the development and implementation of Health Hero’s long-term vision, strategic direction, and governance arrangements. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring customers are treated in accordance with best evidenced based practice, delivering optimal outcomes to increase the value (outcomes/ cost) of care received for all our customers across different markets.

Responsibilities are multi-faceted. They will bear ultimate responsibility for clinical safety of our services as well as digital products. They will guide our clinical product roadmaps while ascertaining a good product market fit; champion our relationships with clinicians in all regions of operation; build relationships and expand our operating network by influencing key public and private sector partners. Therefore the successful candidate will have a strong standing in public and private healthcare, a known voice of thought leadership and influence.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managerial & Clinical
  • Provide expert clinical advice to the CEO and Leadership Team

Act as a champion for patients, users and the public, ensuring their interests are meaningfully incorporated in the development of HealthHero products and services.

Keep up to date with national and international changes in the delivery and regulation of health care provision.

Assume overall responsibility for clinical governance, quality & clinical risk management in the business.

Guide service delivery and compliance leads, and other stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure excellence in terms of delivery of care. For instance
Review at individual patient flow to population management levels Clinical reviews of our processes, technology and operations as needed Review of products and clinical content to improve effectiveness as well as safety Ensure clinician utilisation and productivity to meet business objectives Grow our clinical team and manage an increasing scope of clinical delivery to support the business plan
Engage our clinicians with our overall vision and value proposition; ensure a great relationship and retention Ensure we have a leading employment proposition in the market Support hiring plans and open new avenues for hiring different types of clinicians Evolve mix of clinicians based on market need and our product and service evolution Support the planning and delivery of learning, education and development opportunities for all our clinicians Contribute to the company performance review, and salary review cycles Offer clinical support and mentoring across managers of our different clinical functions, and for individual clinicians where appropriate

Act as conduit for feedback and information; represent business when talking to clinicians and represent clinical team when talking to the rest of HealthHero management

Ensure market leading quality standards and bring in changes at HealthHero through working with regulatory bodies and professional organisations

Active support to sales and marketing teams through presentation and meetings with clients; consulting to identify and meet needs, priorities and define proof of value, liaising with clinical product experts within the business as appropriate

Utilise and expand own existing networks to develop and build Health Hero’s reputation as the go-to-provider for digital health services and be able to influence senior clinical leaders and C-suite teams in businesses to expand HealthHero’s reach into new markets

Work with HealthHero’s Marketing Team in response to events and media developments including contributing to thought leadership and representation at meetings and conferences

Leadership

As part of the Leadership Team, guide HealthHero’s business and clinical strategy with all relevant inputs internally and externally

‘Horizon scanning’ Stay tuned with industry developments and future needs to help strategic plans

Represent HealthHero with clinical authority and thought leadership as our spokesperson and evangelist

Represent and champion clinical governance requirements and issues at a range of levels within the organisation and to external bodies as appropriate

Identify and capitalise on cross-functional capabilities and assets across the Health Hero portfolio to deliver innovative and integrated services, driving performance and efficiency

Requirements

Medical degree, GMC register or equivalent, current license to practice

Impeccable track record and reputation in the healthcare industry

  • Minimum 7 Years Work Experience As a Medical Practitioner
  • Minimum 15 years work experience in healthcare that should constitute
  • Significant management and leadership experience Compliance and medical governance experience Service integration experience Familiarity (at a minimum) or strong experience with medical devices/ clinical products/ diagnostic algorithms Experience ideally working across Payers and Providers Experience with digital delivery of healthcare International experience, ideally covering at least 2 of the current HealthHero geographies and strong familiarity with healthcare systems in UK, Germany, France & Ireland Besides the generally expected strengths in leadership, communication, management of complexity, that are obvious for such roles, the successful candidate will also demonstrate
  • Adaptable, agile thinking Openness to innovation alongside balancing clinical safety and compliance Ability to toggle comfortably between long term strategy and ‘here and now’ problem solving- e.g. drive strategy forward in one discussion and get into a detailed process review of a clinical delivery aspect in the next one
